They say Love is a beautiful thing; even an artiste that I know put it into musical tone.
The question that keeps ringing on mind is 'Can you actually love someone the very first time you see them?'
Hollywood and probably Nollywood have made us believe that it's quite easy to fall in love even just by looking at them in the eyes. Yeah that's quite MAGICAL
Sometimes when you fall into a level of comfort with someone, you can ask yourself, “When did I fall in love with you? When did it happen?” It could have been six months or one year into a relationship with someone, or even the minute you met them.
I have asked numerous persons and their answers didn't really tally.
"I feel it exists, but it's quite difficult to believe that" - Audrey
"It does not exist, I feel it's just a feeling deep in our heads. Does it mean we can love alot of persons cos I have had that feeling for more than one person" - Michael
Let's look at this from a different perspective and angle.
There are scenarios where we are able to open up to a new person without any form of prejudice( a judgement formed before hand), emotions and constraints. When the aforementioned are present that's when fear, been shy and a whole lot of negative factors would come in.
But when the other person opens up to this connection, the deeper feeling is like magic.. There is this magical connection.
This can even happen when we chat with them on social media (WhatsApp, Facebook, Email etc).
"If you see the way I dey feel this babe when I dey chat up with her, it was all good" - Sammy Brevis
We all actually know the reasons why most guys and girls become unnecessary hyperactive when they meet people they resonate with for the first time - a topic for another day.
A third perspective, for those that don't believe in love at first or love at all.
It happens alot, I even have friends like that.
Even if you’re the least romantic person on the planet, you’ve experienced that moment when you meet someone and just know you’re into them even if the friendship worked or didn't work out.
Sometimes one look is all it takes to fall in love. But some experts and I'm also of the school of thought that real affection develops gradually over time. So when we have that mutual feeling for another at first site, it gives us a foundation to develop love over time.
This might not be entirely right but surely it has reasonable life experience facts.
It's just aimed at triggering our minds and come to discover which we really believe whether it's
1. There is absolute love at first sight.
2. There is a mutual and good feeling at first sight that might or might not develop to love.
3. Love at first sight does not exist at all.
