2018 just got started and Neymar Jr already have a reason to smile. The Paris saint German star won the Samba Gold trophy for the third time in four years(won in 2014 and 2015), after getting 27.7% of total votes.
The Samba d'or is given to the best Brazilian in Europe. The award started in 2008 and have been won by likes of Kaka, Thiago Silva, Maicon, Coutinho e.t.c. The award is determined by 3group of voters, former Brazilian players, online fans and football journalist.
Neymar finished ahead of the 2016 winner and Liverpool play maker Phillipe Coutinho, who tallied 16.64% of the vote. In third position is Real Madrid prolific left back, Marcelo, who grossed 14.43% of the votes.
The award will be presented to Neymar in February at Paris.
